DMPT is a natural S-containing compound and a fourth-generation attractant for aquatic animals. The appetite-stimulating effect of thiobetaine is approximately 1.25 times that of choline chloride, 2.56 times that of betaine, 1.42 times that of methyl methionine, and 2.55 times that of glutamine.
