Formaldehyde (HCHO) is a colorless, volatile organic compound with a strong pungent odor. It has a boiling point of -19.5 ºC and is easily soluble in water. Its 40% aqueous solution is commonly known as formalin. Formaldehyde has lively chemical properties, is easy to polymerize, has reducibility and toxicity. Chemical raw materials: used for the production of adhesives such as phenolic resin, urea formaldehyde resin, melamine resin, etc., widely used in the manufacturing of artificial boards and furniture. Anti corrosion and disinfection: Formaldehyde is used for the preservation of corpses, specimens, and disinfection of medical devices. Textile printing and dyeing: As a fixing agent and anti wrinkle finishing agent, it improves the wrinkle resistance of fabrics. Agriculture: Used for seed disinfection and fumigation sterilization.

Application

1).Resin production: Used for synthesizing urea formaldehyde resin (UF), phenolic resin (PF), and melamine formaldehyde resin (MF), it is the main component of artificial boards (such as plywood, density board), coatings, and adhesives.

2).Plastic and Fiber: Production of Polyoxymethylene (POM engineering plastic), Urotropin (rubber accelerator), and Vinylon Fiber (polyvinyl formal).

3).Formaldehyde (37%~40% formaldehyde solution): Used for preservation of corpses and biological specimens, disinfection of medical equipment and breeding farms.

4).Agriculture: Fumigation and disinfection of soil, seeds, or as pesticide intermediates.

5).Textile finishing: As an anti wrinkle and anti shrink finishing agent, it improves the durability of fabrics (such as "iron free" clothing).

6).Paper making additives: Enhance wet strength and improve paper properties.
